Rod and Sally Hebbard will lead a hike near their home on Franklin Mountain. Meet at the “Family Dollar” end of the “Old Ames” parking lot, corner of Chestnut St, Oneida St, and Winney Hill Road. Elm Park United Methodist Church, 401 Chestnut St., Oneonta. 6 pm potluck dinner followed by 7 pm program. Connie Reed will show slides of her six-day, 100-mile, 7,000-feet altitude gain hike through the Kachkar Mts. and on to the Black Sea in Turkey. Connie’s three-week trip included visits to Istanbul and the Cappadocia cave city.

The Wiggins or the Oakleys will lead a Cherry Valley bike trip after breakfast at the Westville Airport on Rt. 166, two or three miles north of Milford. Plan to arrive between 8 and 8:30, eat, and leave about 9:30. There are four or five cross over roads, so that everyone can do as much or little as they wish. Breakfast is put on by the EAA (Exponential Aircraft Assoc.) and the Middlefield Fire Dept. as a fund raiser. It costs $6.50 and includes pancakes, eggs (cooked to your specs), sausage, juices, coffee, tea and coca.

Sun, Oct 19 The Robert Riddell State Park---Park donors,Trish and Steve, will meet hikers at Pine Lake parking lot at 1:30 to guide a 4 hour walk in the 800 acre section. From there, participants will carpool to the State Park entrance and proceed 4.5 miles thru the park, to Mud Lake and back to Pine Lake parking lot. If time permits, walkers will take a detour to a beautiful water fall. Be aware that this entails a long climb and equally long descent of the HILL between Cooperstown Junction and the Davenports. Bring water and snack.

Doug & Scott Fielder will be leading the October 21 hike and will be going on a portion of the upper Riddell State Park. Meet at Price Chopper at 9:30 a.m. to consolidate cars (limited parking near upper Park trail entrance) or go directly to the Park by 9:45 a.m. Bring a lunch to eat on the trail. The hike should last until approximately 12:30 p.m. Call 638-5436.

Leaders: Virginia and Currie Marr, 432-5434. Loop hike starting on the "red trail" and returning on the "orange trail" at SUNY's College Camp. Meet in the parking lot of Price Chopper at 9:30 am, or in the parking lot of College Camp by 9:45 am.
Additional Information:
1) Dogs are not allowed on College Camp property
2) Park in the first lot across from the Observatory Structures. Do not park next to the Lodge
3) Restroom facilities in the basement of the Lodge will be available
4) Lunch can be eaten in the basement of the Lodge or outdoors

Leaders: Ernie or Heide Mahlke 432-2583. Hike a moderately strenuous route on the Finger Lakes Trail. Start from Steam Mill Rd (south of Masonville) to County Hwy 27. Only 4.3 miles, but it will seem like more. Rainy weather moves hike to Sunday the 9th.
