Columbia Rail Trail Hike – Tuesday, May 23, 2017

Photographs by Fred Johnson - Monica and Irv Peters led this hike starting from the old Creamery in the Town of Columbia. The owner of the property, Ben Gottfried, gave some historical background of the former Lackawanna Railroad which was constructed in 1868 providing passenger and freight service to Utica until about 1988. Along the way a dead Mink and patches of Marsh-Marigolds were observed. Click photos twice for maximum enlargement.
