S. Kortright to Hobart – January 28, 2020

Report by Kathy Carey - On Tuesday, January 28, 28 ADK hikers met in South Kortright to hike on the Catskill Scenic Rail Trail. We walked toward Hobart and covered about 4 miles. Crumhorn Mountain - January 21, 2020

Report by Lucille Wiggen - Cold morning temperatures prompted 17 of us to delay meeting until 2:00 at the Crumhorn Boy Scout Camp (Henderson Scout Reservation) parking lot. From there we walked on the modern roads around the lake until we picked up the original carriage road across the south end.

Homer Folk's State Forest - January 14, 2020

Report by Genda L. Bolton - And how do you take your "Coffee?" "Black!" For that winter morning jolt, on January 14, ADK members enjoyed a large mug trekking along the Black Coffee trail at Homer Folk's State Forest. Along the hike we were delighted by lush green moss blanketing spectacular rock formations. An unusual tree formation provided a natural picture frame for an outstanding photo op.

Lower Riddell State Park - January 7, 2020

Report by Linda Pearce - Our first hike for 2020, Jan. 7th at Lower Riddell State Park, was very enjoyable - the temperature hovered around 30 degrees and the trails were in good shape for walking with just a trace of snow. Twenty-four people came out, and for most of us, it was our first hike together since November. Due to weather conditions and holiday observances, only one hike took place in December.

Pine Lake - December 17, 2019

Report by Julia Smith - Tuesday morning, December 17, marks a significant day in the Susquehanna chapter . On this hike led by Julie Smith more men than women donned snowy trails at Pine Lake to enjoy the brisk winter air and beautiful vistas. We all had a wonderful morning and missed those who were unable to join us.

Fortin Park - November 19, 2019

Report by Currie Marr - Twenty people participated in the 2.2 mile boundary hike of Fortin Park. Using the Fortin house as reference, the group walked the perimeter of two parcels of land 1) the flood plains in front of the house and 2) the hillside behind the house.

Milford State Forest - October 22, 2019

Report by Linda Pearce - A few sprinkles during the hike didn't dampen the spirits of the eighteen hikers at Milford State Forest on Kelly Corners Rd. We walked 3.4 miles on two loops of trails, one on the south side and one on the north side of State Land Rd.
