New Island Hike – Tuesday, September 27, 2016

Report by Ruth Schaeffer - Twenty-seven ADKer's hiked New Island in Oneonta, NY. We started off at Catella Park and had a nice picture taken of us at the dam. We hiked both the blue and yellow trail for a total of 3.8 miles. We had first time hikers with us and some others who had hiked before who were new to this trail. It is nice that it is being kept up! It was a beautiful, sunny fall day.


Clark Tower Hike – Tuesday, September 20, 2016

Report by Bev Hensle - There were 15 of us that gathered to hike the Clark`s Tower trails. It was a beautiful, sunny morning and everyone was happy to be out enjoying the beauty of the area. We were amazed to see the many beautiful spider webs along the trail and on the pond. We visited the famous Clark`s Tower and gravesite of Ambrose, and his horse and hunting dog-Buttons.


Schuyler Lake Hike – Tuesday, September 13, 2016

Crumhorn Mountain Hike – Tuesday, September 6, 2016

Greenway Trail Clearing – Tuesday, August 23, 2016

Report by Lucille Wiggin - A thousand THANKS to the 26 ADKers, one visitor and two new hikers who showed up at the Greenway with clippers, loppers and small saws. Did we ever get into more than we bargained for with clearing in-growing weeds and overhead vines and small tree branches. We split into two groups and went in opposite directions from the parking area.


Long Path & Vroman’s Nose – Tuesday. August 9, 2016

Report by Ruth Schaeffer - 26 hikers attempted the Long Path, "Cliff" hike in Middleburgh on a beautiful, sunny August day! It was a challenging hike but we all rose to the occasion and it was quite an accomplishment for us! Four hikers continued on with the original plan to also hike Vroman's nose. The rest of us decided to leave that for another day.


Rail Trail in South Columbia - Tuesday, August 2, 2016

Report by Julia Smith - The hike on Tuesday, Aug. 2, was the Rail Trail in South Columbia. Twenty-four met at the 1930's Creamery building for a very interesting talk by owner, Ben Gottfried, about the train track history. John Skinner, told us about his boyhood experiences taking milk from the farm to the train for transport. The day turned out beautiful for the 3 mile hike to Richfield Springs.


Sharon Springs Walk & Historical Presentation – Tuesday, July 26, 2016

Franklin Mountain Hike – Tuesday, July 19, 2016
