Tuesday, May 26, about 30 ADKers walked Andy’s trail at Betty and Wilbur Davis State Park in Westford, NY. Participants responded cheerily to the sunny skies, to temperatures about 68 degrees temperature, and to the exceptional finds along the way. One of these finds was a clump of Pink Lady’s-Slipper orchids, and another captivating find, was a bird nest at ground level containing 4 blue eggs. The trip leader, Fran Darrah, identified the bird making the nest as a Veery. The Veery, Catharus fuscescens, is a small thrush species. Photographs by Currie Marr.
