Report by Mary Dunkle – On October 4 we hiked on Otsego Land Trust property. With permission from the owner of Red Creek Farm on Middlefield Road near Cooperstown we joined members of the Land Trust staff. Our first stop was on the site of a once upon a time mansion built by the Cooper family. Much of the amazing amount of stonework surrounding the house and gardens remained. We then started a gradual climb up through the wooded property. There were several great views of the valley south of town. After walking from Middlefield Road almost to Chicken Hill Farm Road, it was time for lunch and the trek back down the hill to our cars. We were grateful to the property owner and Land Trust for making this possible.
