Audubon Property Hike – Tuesday, October 25, 2011

Report by Lucille Wiggin – We hiked the Delaware-Otsego Audubon property on Franklin Mt. About 14 of us learned about the “hawk watch” from two observers. We also walked to the “cave” and on toward White School Road on the abandoned road to an old farm site. Our return was via the snowmobile trail under the phone line and through the abandoned blue stone quarry. This made it about a three mile (two hour) hike. However, the wind canceled our plans to eat lunch out on the hawk observation deck.
