Report by Bev Hensle It was a beautiful, cool spring morning as 19 of us hiked the trails at Milford State Forest. When we got to the pond we saw that the beaver had built a dam which had caused the pond to overflow its banks. It was quite muddy as we made our way around the pond. We also discovered mysterious little colored balls scattered around and in the pond. Everyone ventured a guess as to what they might be everywhere from bird’s eggs to candy balls. Only after Currie broke one did we decide they were paint balls. I guess not being from our generation none of us had ever seen one. You never know what you will learn on a hike. A good time was had by all. Photographs by Currie Marr
