Crumhorn Mountain Boy Scout Camp Hike – Tuesday, May 22, 2012

Report by Lucille Wiggin – About 18 rainy day diehards met at the Crumhorn Mountain Boy Scout Camp. This was our 5th consecutive “probable showers” Tue., but we lucked into finishing and being at Jackie’s Restaurant for lunch before the downpour hit. Back to the hike….We again enjoyed the sample Indian long houses and log cabin the boys have built and took one of the forest trails which treated us to several wild flowers, including a half dozen Lady Slippers. Our descent on the long abandoned carriage road treated us to the out let water falls which is bisected by a dry lay up stone bridge. Continuing around the Lake past the 15 private cottages brought us back to our cars at the Camp. Photographs by Jim Austin.
