Report by Erika Heinegg – Our ADK Susquehanna group of 13 met at Riddell Park for what appeared to be a very slippery hike. At 10am the surface was still hard ice on snow. Most of us wore our hiking boots with cleats. Some members turned back to change from cleats to snowshoes. As time passed, the ice became softer making snowshoes the preferred and safest footwear. The sun and blue sky reminded us of spring to come. Anticipating another storm on Wednesday we particularly enjoyed the sunny and warmth of this hike. Photograph by Doug Fielder.
