Greenwoods Conservancy Snowshoe – Tuesday, March 17, 2015

Report by Monica Peters – Hike commenced on State Land seasonal road. Some walked but most snow shoed to the intersection of Cranberry Bog Road where snow shoes were put on and we started onto the Yellow Trail. The descending trail to the bridge was a bit tricky but all made it. We continued to the bridge at the Beaver Pond/Heron Rookery and discussion was had about going further. However, due to conditions and the start of a snow squall we decided we had had enough good vigorous exercise and that two and a half miles total would be sufficient so we headed back by the same trail. Monica read a description of the Conservancy and reviewed the access rules. All agreed we are fortunate to have such a beautiful area to enjoy and it was a good day in spite of somewhat inclement weather. Brownies provided at the end were a very welcome treat.
