Report by Kathy Carey – Sixteen hardy hikers braved the cold for the first group hike of the New Year. The temperature was 3 degrees, but it was sunny and there was no wind. The hike was on Ridge Road, a seasonal dirt road and it covered 4 miles, slightly more or less, depending on whose GPS you wanted to believe. Roberta Austin’s daughter, on break from college in St Kitts, came on the hike, as well as 2 other new hikers from the Walton/Franklin area.
