Report by Currie Marr – Twenty people enjoyed a walk in Fortin Park. While there was insufficient snow to ski or snowshoe, the warm temperature and absence of freezing-rain (forecasted) provided comfortable conditions. We walked the perimeter of the entire park that includes the parcel near Charlotte Creek and Susquehanna River and the hillside behind the Fortin house, about 2 miles. Along the way, we stopped to view the rocky dam re-directing the flow of Charlotte Creek to prevent park erosion. The group observed a Red-Tail Hawk, and even more exciting, two Bald Eagles. Greeting us on our return to the parking lot were two girls skating in the arena assembled each winter in a former airplane hangar building. Photographs are by Fred Johnson.
