Report by Bob Ciganek – On Tuesday morning, October 11, twenty-seven warmly dressed ADKers began a slightly downhill trek from the top of the Otsdawa to the Myrrbearer Monastery. From there we met the Gem of the Otsdawa, Mother Katherine, overseer of all sheep, goats, chickens and Great Pyrenees pups. Mother Katherine escorted us down a portion of Pilgrim Trail. Our hike of approximately four miles was most pleasant and Mother Katherine’s stories inspirational. Her love for us and her creatures was most obvious. Photographs by Fred Johnson.
