Report by Currie Marr – On a cool, variable weather day, 14 people hiked approximately 3 miles at College Camp of SUNY Oneonta. The hike began near the Observatory complex, passing the pond and Lean-tos, and ascending to the ridge. From the ridge, hikers followed the “Purple Trail” to loop down the western hillside and return to the ridge. The return to parked cars was via the former ski slope, now the Red Trail, and passing by the Lodge. During this invigorating 2 hour hike we experience bursts of sunshine and several moments of hail.
