Report by Aleda Koehn – Nine ADKers braved cold, snow showers, and rain, and arrived at Hartwick’s Pine Lake Campus. The original plan was to hike to Mud Lake but with all the past rain, and streams overflowing, and no wild flowers yet to be seen, it was decided to walk the Pine Lake property instead. We had a pleasant hike in spite of occasional flurries of snow. We saw a young eagle sitting on a high branch across the water. It sat for a time before flying off. The hardest part of hiking in inclement weather is resolving to get up and get out! Once outside however, the wonderful natural surroundings in all their variability makes the effort so worthwhile.
