Stamford Rail Trail – October 2, 2018

Report by Bob Ciganek and Julia Smith – Fifteen hearty ADKers hiked/sloshed along three miles of the Catskill Rail Trail between Stamford and Hobart. A heavy downpour encouraged us to reverse direction, but not before we enjoyed a tree-lined section of trail, Bald Eagles and three humungous amanitas. We resembled a happy family of soaked muskrats at hike’s end.  Photos by Betsy O’Brien: Tag photo is the “Fly Agaric” [Amanita muscaria].
