Report by Linda Pearce – After many recent outings had been canceled due to severe weather or icy conditions, we finally got a pleasant, sunny afternoon to hike the nearly 3 miles around the lower portion of Riddell State Park. The freshly fallen snow made it enjoyable for the three skiers while thirteen of us walked the trails through the woods and around the large field. A couple of interesting sightings were the large hornet’s nest in a shrub and what appeared to be the workings (shredding and chewing) of a porcupine on a small tree. We all agreed it was a nice outing. Photo Credit: Betsy O’Brien.
