April 13th, 2021 – Neahwa Park

Report by Barb Baumann.  After the early morning fog lifted, 15 ADK members enjoyed beautiful weather while walking 2 miles along the mill race and the fence lines of both Neahwa and Catella Parks, and passing through the recently cleared space (Sycamore trees remain) for the soon-to-be dog park. Some of our discoveries include such items as Skunk Cabbage, Pulmonaria, Bloodroot, a Salamander underneath a piece of bark, and a huge, hollow tree which required 6 of us to encircle it.  Redwing Blackbirds flew along beside us for a while as they rasped their song for us.  We shared our love of nature, laughter (remember Wilson?) and knowledge (why the mill race exists) with each other.  We all just had a very pleasant morning.
