Report by Ruth Schaeffer. The hike on Tues., Sept. 14 was at Valley View Hiking Trails off of Rt. 7 between Unadilla and Sidney with twenty-one hikers participating. The morning was overcast and cloudy and cool. The trail started out by following a stream which was quite full with the recent rains. By the time we got to the viewing part, it had warmed up and the sun was out. It was a beautiful view of the valley with a few trees starting to turn color. We followed the Valley Trek trail which goes around the perimeter of the hiking area. Since the last time the group was here, they have added a “glamping” (glamorous camping) site. As we came down from the hike, the owners of the property were out and we visited with them. Seven of us stopped for lunch before we headed home.
