Report by Jim and Carolyn Austin. On a cloudy, cool November 16th, 22 hikers traveled to Gilbert Lake State Park. From the parking lot we walked in front of the lodge and along the lake. At the end of the lake we went into the Cabin area, and back to the lake. We observed the peaceful lake from the swimming area, and then meandered along the other side of the lake. Upon reaching the far end of the lake, we walked into and around the newly paved Deer Run camping area, then up to the large pavilion and down the path to bring us back to the parking lot. There were lots of conversations as we covered the 3.4 miles.
