Report by Bill and Kathy Holmstrom. On February 22nd, twenty-two hikers joined together for a 2.3-mile circuit hike on the Susquehanna Greenway. Before starting, we celebrated Roberta Austin’s birthday with a round of “Happy Birthday”.
Wild temperature swings the previous week left the trail with patches of ice, as well as wet spots, to navigate. The Susquehanna was high and moving swiftly, with ice clinging to branches in shallow areas and along the banks. We were thankful the rain held off until the afternoon and we enjoyed the partial sunshine.
We look forward to wildflowers that we know will be appearing soon!
